It had many moving parts from having a plugged feeling when you play an instrument, not being able to hear the instruction and instructor while all the hundreds of hours of practice.

In working with the band, we learned that the band directors have to be in a hearing conservation program, and NIOSH remedy was to have the schools provide custom hearing protection, BUT THEY DON’T.
This is why the majority of band directors have noise-induced hearing loss and Tinnitus and are forced into retirement early, and they can longer do their job correctly as they cant hear.
The second reason we created the earplugs for the marching band is all the thousands of students in the band, we have found that more than 50% have Tinnitus and noise-induced hearing loss coming in Freshman into the collage.
