Moisture is the #1 cause for needed repairs in custom stereo earplugs. Moisture that your body produces travels into the stereo plugs during use travels down the tubes and into the filter, which causes the filters to clog, resulting in reduced sound and even no sound on one side or both.
Eventually, the moisture goes past the filter into the driver, causing the driver to fail to result in a costly replacement. Moisture can even get into the cable causing the inside of the cable to rot, resulting in intermediate or complete loss of sound in one or both sides.
Your ear canals don’t sweat, but Custom stereo headphones are in a very moist environment. We recommend that when you’re done at the gym, exercising, or riding, wipe off the outside of your ears before you remove your Big Ear’s from your head.
If you then place them in this simple, unassuming tube, it has a dryer desiccant inside and will pull out any moisture from all the nooks and crannies.
It also will help dry out the earwax moisture that we manage in the sound port. When it’s dry, you can use the tool to take it out.
