In with a light press. Seated and sealed.
See the softness
Soft silicone, shaped to your ear. No foam pushing back.
Foam tips seal by expanding, so they keep pressing on your ear canal for the whole flight. Your adapter is molded from your own ear in soft, supple platinum-cure silicone. It seals by its shape, so it sits comfortably without that constant pressure.

What pilots say
Totally worth the wait
I teach Aerobatics in the Extra and Pitts. These airplanes are extremely loud. I had to change out my clarity aloft foams just about every day. My Big Ear clarity aloft adaptors have turned an almost unbearable condition into a pleasure. I love them so much I just ordered a set for shooting sports. It’s rare to find a product that actually delivers on its promises.

How it works
Four simple steps, start to finish
Every set is made from impressions of your own ears. You take them at home with the kit we send you. Watch the process →

Step 1: Order
Choose your options and check out. Your home impression kit is included.
Step 2: Receive your kit
It arrives 3 to 5 business days after we receive your order. Watch your email for the tracking number.
Step 3: Make your impressions
About 15 to 20 minutes at home, with a video that walks you through every step. You can do it yourself; a second person makes it easier.
Step 4: Send them back
Pack them in the same box and use the prepaid return label. We start building the day they arrive.
Then we hand-build your set in 40 business days from the day your impressions reach our lab and ship it to your door, with a 30-day fit warranty. If the fit is off, we adjust it.
Watch the kit, step by stepQuestions about the kit
What if my impression doesn’t come out right?
We check every impression before we build. If one needs to be redone, we send you another kit at no charge. The kit also has extra material in case you want a second try.
Do I need someone to help me?
No. You can take your impressions yourself by following the video. A second person makes it easier, because they can see into your ear, but you don’t need one.
When will my order arrive?
Your kit arrives 3 to 5 business days after we receive your order. Once your impressions reach our lab, we hand-build your set in 40 business days and ship it to your door.
Already have impressions? If we made your last pair, choose “Big Ear already has my impressions” at checkout. From an audiologist? Mail them to Big Ear Inc, 101 Durden Park Row, Blythewood, SC 29016.

Stop restocking tips
One custom fit instead of pack after pack of foam tips.
Foam tips squash flat, lose their seal and get thrown out, so you buy more. Custom adapters are molded to your ears in soft silicone and seat the same way each time you put them in: a better seal, all-day comfort, and a lot less going in the trash.
01
Fits like nothing off a shelf
Shaped from impressions of your own ears, so your headset seals properly without pressure points, hour after hour.
02
No more restocking
No more ordering tips, no more spares in the flight bag or the drawer.
03
Less to throw away
One pair of custom adapters in place of a steady stream of worn-out tips.
Hand-built in the USA
Made for your ears alone.
Not assembled overseas, not drop-shipped, not rushed. One pair at a time, for one set of ears at a time. We are proud of that, and we think you can hear the difference.

The detail
Bose Proflight Aviation Headset Series 1 Custom Adapters.
Now that you have bought the best, you find that the in-ear tip that comes with it does not fit you.
You have followed the directions and tried all kinds of rolling, squeezing, and twisting, and all it wants to do is expand and cause you irritation and pain over time.
This was when you realized that it is made in China, and this is the best they can come up with, having all the resources and engineering available to them.
It simply just does not work for most people, and they are left to try and figure it out on their own. They won't even tell the customers in the instruction that there is a better, more comfortable solution to help with the fit-out there.
As the customer, you are left to find this out on your own.
By adding a custom in-ear adapter, you can make this the headset you thought you bought.
When you test it, you think that you can just deal with the ever-expanding uncomfortable not made for anyone earpiece that will work for you.
Finally, you can fix this and wear it 10-15 hours comfortably.
The process is simple; we need an impression of your ear.
We mail you a home impression kit. You take your impressions at home in about 15 to 20 minutes and mail them back to our lab with the prepaid return label.
Our technicians then hand-build your adapters for your specific headset and ship them to you in 40 business days from the day your impressions reach our lab.
By making your Bose Proflight aviation headset custom, you will drastically improve your comfort while flying as well as improving the quality of your communication setup and ultimately making you safer in the sky.
You will eliminate the hassle of using the generic tips that come standard with the original unit.
The Bose Proflight aviation headset series 1 is used by airplane pilots, air traffic controllers, and the military for helicopter pilots.
Standard adapters are clear, super-soft pure platinum-cure silicone adapters.
