Why the seal matters
Your CEP only works as well as it seals.
Helicopter cockpit noise normally runs above 85 dBA, and most of it is low-frequency rotor and drive noise. In Army testing, adding a CEP under the HGU-56/P changed the numbers.
Those results assume the earplug is sealed in the canal. A foam tip that backs out, or is the wrong size for you, gives some of that back. A tip molded to your own ear seats the same way every time you put it in.

Will it fit my CEP?
It is made to fit the CEP earpiece. If yours is an older or unusual version, put the model in the Notes field under Advanced fit options, or call (719) 271-4528, and we confirm before we build.
Does it work with my helmet?
Only the tip on your CEP earpiece changes, so it goes wherever your CEP already goes, including under the HGU-56/P.
Is it approved for flight?
We make the tip, and your unit decides what you fly with. If your unit has rules about changes to flight equipment, check with your ALSE shop before you order.
Will I still hear the radio?
Yes. Radio audio still comes from your CEP earpiece, through the custom tip. The seal is what keeps rotor noise from burying it, which is what the Army testing above measured.
How do I get impressions?
Choose the home impression kit when you order. It is included, ships in 2 to 3 business days with a prepaid return label, and takes about fifteen minutes at home. If an audiologist has already taken ear impressions for you, or we have yours on file from an earlier order, choose that instead.
How long does it take?
Your kit ships in 2 to 3 business days. Once your impressions reach our lab, every pair is made by hand in about 40 business days. We do not rush builds.
What if they do not fit right?
You have a 30-day fit warranty, plus a one-year warranty against manufacturer defects. If the fit is not right, tell us and we adjust it.
