It locks into the second bend of the canal and sits flush, so it’s designed to hold its seal through the night, on a long flight or across a full workday, with nothing sticking out to press into a pillow.

Fit beats the box
The number on the box isn’t the whole story.
Real-world protection from any earplug is often well below its rating. How well it fits in your ear matters most.
The straight answer: studies don’t show that custom earplugs block more noise than a foam plug rolled and seated perfectly. What they show is that custom ones seat the same way every time and are comfortable enough to keep in, which is how you actually get the protection.

Foam plugs don’t really seal, and you can feel it.
