Super-Soft is a canal-only earplug with a small pull tab for taking it out. It’s made from molds of your ear canals and locks into the second bend of the canal, so it’s designed to hold a tight seal for side sleepers wherever you sleep. It’s made from our softest silicone, and nothing sticks out to press into the pillow.

    About 15 to 20 minutes at home, with a video that walks you through every step. You can do it yourself; a second person makes it easier.

  4. Step 4: Send them back

    Pack them in the same box and use the prepaid return label. We start building the day they arrive.

Then we hand-build your set in 40 business days from the day your impressions reach our lab and ship it to your door, with a 30-day fit warranty. If the fit is off, we adjust it.

Questions about the kit

What if my impression doesn’t come out right?

We check every impression before we build. If one needs to be redone, we send you another kit at no charge. The kit also has extra material in case you want a second try.

Do I need someone to help me?

No. You can take your impressions yourself by following the video. A second person makes it easier, because they can see into your ear, but you don’t need one.

When will my order arrive?

Your kit arrives 3 to 5 business days after we receive your order. Once your impressions reach our lab, we hand-build your set in 40 business days and ship it to your door.

We read the studies on custom earplugs. Here’s what they found, with a link to each one.

Same seal, every time

Custom fits the same way each time you put it in.

In a lab study, custom earplugs gave more consistent protection from one fitting to the next than a premolded earplug.

The straight answer: studies don’t show that custom earplugs block more noise than a foam plug rolled and seated perfectly. What they show is that custom ones seat the same way every time and are comfortable enough to keep in, which is how you actually get the protection.

Why foam lets you down at night

Foam was never made for a pillow.

You roll it, push it in and hope. Then you turn onto your side.

Before you order.

Will they fit small ear canals?
Yes. Super-Soft is molded from impressions of your own ears, so it is made to your size, small canals included. It is our softest silicone, canal only with a pull tab. If the fit is off, tell us within 30 days of delivery and we will adjust it.
Can I sleep on my side with them?
That is what Super-Soft is made for. It is our softest silicone, molded to your ear canal. It is canal only, so nothing sits in the bowl of your ear for the pillow to press, and a small pull tab makes it easy to take out.
Will I still hear my smoke alarm or baby monitor?
Super-Soft is made for comfort and turns the night down, not off. It is rated 32 dB, so alarms sound quieter too, and how clearly you hear one depends on the alarm, how far away it is and how deeply you sleep. Before your first night, test your smoke alarm, carbon monoxide alarm and baby monitor while wearing them. If one is not clear, add a vibrating alarm or a bed shaker.
Will they block my partner’s snoring?
Quieter, not silent. Super-Soft is rated 32 dB, which turns snoring well down. Very loud snoring can still come through, partly through the bones of your head, which no earplug can block. Many people add a fan or sound machine. If the snoring is very loud, it is worth your partner mentioning it to a doctor.
How soft are they?
Super-Soft is rated Shore A 25, the softest silicone we use. Our filtered plugs are Shore A 35. Lower is softer.
How long until I have them?
Your impression kit arrives 3 to 5 business days after we receive your order, and you will get an email with the tracking number when it ships. Once your impressions reach our lab, we hand-build your pair in 40 business days.
What colors can I get?
Super-Soft comes in solid colors only: no clear and no swirls. Any color is included at no charge. A bright color is easier to find in the sheets.
How long do they last?
Built to last 7 to 10 years. One pair replaces years of disposable foam.
Can I wear them every night?
Most people do. Wash them in warm, soapy water, let them dry fully, and do not push them in deeper than they sit. Give your ears a night off now and then. If you are prone to earwax buildup or ear infections, check with your doctor first.
What if they do not fit right?
Tell us within 30 days of delivery and we will make it right. That is our 30-day fit warranty.
I already have ear impressions. Can I use them?
Yes. Impressions from an audiologist, or ones already on file with us, work. The price is the same.
